Hugh MacLeod very kindly invited me to join Quechup—another social networking site. On there, you can feed in New Zealand (which is more than I can say for some sites I encountered in the early 1990s), but a compulsory field is ‘Region’. There is no empty spot—everything is taken.
Only problem is, if you live in any of the main cities, there is no corresponding region. The closest to Wellington (where I am) is ‘Hutt’. I suppose I could put ‘Raumati South’. I did check in Māori as well for Whanganui-a-Tara and Poneke, to no avail.
Stuff it, I put in New York, NY. Well, I can get mail there. It might not be patriotic, but it might have to do.
(I have sent feedback to Quechup on this, so that this entry is not behind their backs.)
PS.: Maybe Hugh never sent that invitation. I’ve left Quechup after reading several reports, including this one from Robert Scoble.—JY
