Isn’t it far too early to be nostalgic for a Beverly Hills, 90210 revival?
American networks don’t think so: it’s back in the (northern) autumn, called 90210 and produced by Rob Thomas (who’s also doing the US version of Outrageous Fortune, called Outrageous Behavior).

Normally revivals take some 20 years though they seem to come around the time of Hollywood writers’ strikes.
And will fans of the old watch the new if it doesn’t have returning stars? That would be like Grease 2 not having Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta.
I seem to remember one of the car brands doing a similar commercial here. This one is for Ford of Britain, made in the 1980s. If the Sierra there is a brand-new one, I would guess this was made around 1985 or 1986. It’s a nice, nostalgic trip through the 20th century and notice the British variation on the American ‘Quality is Job No. 1’ slogan at the end.
There’s a big discussion on IMDB about confectionery in Life on Mars, which I am sure the Poms will love for its nostalgia value. It reminded me of the Spaceman Cigarettes that you could buy in New Zealand in the 1970s: petite sugar sweets in the shape of cigarettes, complete with red tip. My cousin and I had these as kids. And you know, I am a non-smoker. Never tried tobacco or anything harder or illegal. So is there a connection between smokers and “play-smoking”? I assume that that is why we can’t find Spaceman in the shops these days.
