Wired lists 10 reasons that cellphones are bad

It's funny, I hardly even see pay phones around San Diego. It's like they've all disappeared! We rarely use our landline (we only have it because we've had the same phone number for 20 years) and we've all pretty much moved to cellular phones.

I'm a bit of a hypocrite; I love how they keep me connected, but I hate that it's so easy for people to get a hold of me! Heaven forbid if I should leave it at home, I'm paranoid most of the day.
Interesting. Guess I will have to take a cell with me to the US (I did last time, to So. Cal. last November). As an experiment, do you think you could pick a cell-free day? It could be a liberating experience.
I would get rid of my cell... except that I mainly use it for texting. I rarely use over 100 minutes/month (which is really sad considering it's the only phone I have), but I use a lot of texts each month.
actually today is a cell phone free day! I think you cursed me, but I left my cell phone at home today and I am seriously going through withdrawls. 12 Step program anyone?
Texting I can actually understand apart from its very high price. The technology is somewhere just above Morse code, yet telcos think they can get away with charging us so much. But it’s ideal for sending those little notes in a relationship or courtship.
This is a blessed day, C.! Just think: are the experiences of contacting people live richer? Are you getting more done without the distraction? See if you can save the things you need to call people about into one big clump, maybe writing them down on a piece of paper, and schedule a full day at work or go for a nice summer’s walk in San Diego. Hurrah!
