I roasted the turkey this year. Everyone at the table raved how moist and perfect it turned out. Yum. Good job!
Well done, Zak! Have you guys cleaned up or is that tomorrow morning’s job?

My job was to roast the turkey as we had a sign up sheet and eveyone chose the task they wanted. Some food items were bought and most were home made. Everything has been cleaned and put away. It was a nice evening we played Apples to Apples before dinner. Wish you could have been here to enjoy the fun.
Thank you for the kind wishes. We did take care of out Butterball...

Does NZ have anything similar to a day of giving thanks?

Thanks Jack! I am still eating leftovers and about to go shopping :)
Hi GP: the closest we would have is Christmas, which is more universally celebrated nationally than it is in the US (e.g. it is not uncommon to meet Jewish people who are ‘taking Christmas off’). Since it’s the middle of summer, the holiday is particularly long so people are usually off from December 24 till the New Year. But Butterball is a brand we don’t have here, hence my gag!
Have fun shopping today, Randy!
