Torchwood finally premières on TV2, 10.30 p.m. tonight. So how many years behind the British are we? And has anyone seen a single promo for this show?

Torchwood series 1? I don't know how long ago that was first aired. I won't spoil anything for you, but you're in for a treat.

Series 1 aired between series 2 and 3 of doctor who
and Series 2 aired between 3&4

I'm a big fan of torchwod, it's not the doctor and is still finding it's feet but does hit all the right buttons

Thanks, Jando and Plubby. I found the introductory episode a bit laboured but the preview for the second looks good. More than willing to give it a chance (now that I have given up on Chuck). Ellipse, thanks for putting it into context—there were references to the Docklands episode of Doctor Who (I forget the episode name). With the different networks playing Doctor Who and Torchwood I imagine the timing will always be off.
