Top ten reasons Bullitt should not be remade

Comments

I absolutely approve this litany of reasons why not to remake Bullitt. I'm sorry, Brad Pitt is no Steve McQueen.
[this is good]

Steve McQueen was the real deal. He loved fast cars and motorcycles and owned quite a stable. He was a real racer. Mr. Craig is the best James Bond ever. Daniel Craig is one of my favorite actors as is Brad Pitt. But this role requires both machismo and a man who actually races. I’m in for Bullitt!

Someone on another blog said that Steve McQueen did a lot of his own stunt driving in Bullitt (slightly exaggerated from the truth). They suggested putting Pitt in the same spec ’68 Mustang and asking him to do the same stunts. The idea is Darwinian: his apparently lesser skill will wipe him out, and then we will have one fewer bad actor to worry about.
While I would never advocate killing Mr Pitt, I still thought that was hilarious!

11. That car chase done with Toyota Prius just won't be the same!

Ooh, classic!
