As a Yank I've never seen this. But you say there is to be an American version? Cool! I'll have to look for it! I just like this picture of the characters / puppets. They look so.... befuddled. ;-)
Yes, and I think BBC America has been showing the original! The puppets were in a scene where the hero’s medication has been messed up and he began tripping, seeing himself and his superior as these clay characters on TV.
The US version, I think, begins in the fall, with David E. Kelley writing and executive-producing. I believe it will be on Little Rock (ABC).

But Dirty Harry was a movie. I'm pretty sure when it played on television, that line was dubbed for something like

"Harry hates everybody. Lime-aid, ticks, ears, bad Legos, big girls, donkeys, cheese, you name it."

Oh no! We had that line uncensored down here on TV! The FCC is mean!
