Quit smoking: a Russian take

Comments

What was your response, Jack, in English?
I said that within the US, the clip would not have been funny, and that it may be too early to joke about 9-11.
Wow the timeline is all over the fucking place in that animation! Not a bad flash animation though. I wasn't offended by the 9-11 references and not because the cartoon didn't make any sense lol
Thanks, Gary. I was interested to know what Americans think of 9-11 in 2007. Maybe if it was done without any malice—the animation, certainly, didn’t imply any, through my watching of it. I wasn’t offended myself, but I didn’t find it funny when the Towers fell.
The timeline is whack!
Yes, the timeline is indeed whack! lol The only funny thing about the cartoon to me was that it's so stupid haha.
I do enjoy humour that is totally out of place, e.g. the little things turning into catastrophe (e.g. Three’s Company, Seinfeld). This takes it to a whole new level!

That was certainly interesting. I wasn't offended but I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be. I didn't see any malice, just rather amateurish attempt at avant garde humor, perhaps.

It was humorous in parts, probably more in the timing of the gags. It was a little avant-garde and a tad anarchic, like a Ren & Stimpy cartoon, perhaps.

What did it have to with anti-smoking?

Probably encourages people to smoke, because the main character, who quit, caused all that catastrophe.
