QotD: happy birthday to me

How do you feel about your birthday? Do you look forward to it and remind all your friends, or do you dread it and try to keep it a secret?

I don’t announce it, and tend to keep it off biographies and social networking pages. I am not as good at receiving, and am better at giving. I also get stressed out doing parties and on my birthday, I should not be stressed! A quiet dinner with family and an SO would usually be sufficient.

Agree wholeheartedly. Each year I try and avoid organising anything citing (a) it is the busy season so as an accountant I can't take too much time out (one famous year I was over an hour late to my own birthday dinner) and (b) lots of other pals also have birthdays at this time and they ENJOY celebrating, so I'd rather not clutter up the diary and give everyone birthday fatigue...

Sounds good to me—and why not just enjoy someone else’s birthday? I am in September, which is a pretty populated month as far as birthdays go, given horny Christmas and New Year parties.
