No excuse for this in 2008
If I were advertising in City Life newspaper for this region (south and east Wellington) for the spread in the October 28 edition, should I get mad at this headline because (a) a definite article in the middle of a headline is capitalized; (b) Winners is missing an apostrophe at the end to indicate a possessive; or (c) Circle is misspelt?
I really have to wonder. I’m an immigrant who didn’t write in (or speak, for that matter) English when I came to this country. It is fortunate, because it seems none of the locals do, either.
Let’s not even start on the lack of standards and errors in the text or the typography.
Or maybe it’s the Irish Gælic spelling, since I understand the newspaper is controlled from Eire. I hope the newspaper group is regretting firing some of its local editors.

So funny, but so sad....
Oh screw it. Congrats your English writing skills -- better than 80% of U.S. residents probably.
I myself am getting increasingly irritated with the "loose" vs. "lose" error. I'm seeing it par tout recently. Quelle dommage, n'est ce pas?
