It was reassuring to see that the Daily Mail followed our lead in publishing an insider’s story on the too-skinny-model issue, which the death of Ana Carolina Reston last year sparked off. Gemma Clarke talks about how one agency measured finger circumferences to deem if a girl was too fat for her modelling job, and her encounter with a pervert photographer. These are behaviours I have fought as a fashion magazine publisher and at least in 2007 I can look any aspiring model in the eye and not feel like a hypocrite.
