Life on Mars starts in New Zealand!
Finally! Just caught the ad. We are a year and two weeks behind. Life on Mars starts on TV One, Tuesday 8.30 p.m. What a pity. I’m already up to the second episode of the second season. I wonder if we will have the year’s break after the eighth episode, or, will we get all 16 shown as a single season?
Still, at least the rest of NZ can get to hear Gene Hunt say, ‘Anything happens to this motor, and I come over to your houses and stamp on all your toys. Got it? Good kids.’

Think of it as Quantum Leap meets The Sweeney. What is now weird, in the second season, which the BBC has said would be the last, there are clues that suggest he is not the only person in 1973 that knows he is from the future, and that he has a purpose.
It’s a pity the Limeys are only going make two seasons’ worth. I think once the “dumb Yanks” get hold of it, it will be a huge worldwide hit, last for five years, and rake in millions for the producers.
