[Cross-posted] An excellent entry appears at Summer Rayne’s blog today, on labour abuses in Red China and the ﬁlm China Blue, about teenage girls having to work up to 20 hours a day in a sweatshop. I have blogged about such issues before, not necessarily relating to my own people. In any case, we should be aware of what has gone in to those cheap jeans that we picked up at some discount outlet (or Wal-mart).

Thanks, BI. I can’t take credit for it, unfortunately: I got it off Summer’s blog and I have a feeling it’s a publicity pic from the movie. Might feed it into Photoshop and see how it would look though: you are right, it would be really emotive in B&W.
