Indonesia arms itself to the tune of $1 billion

Russia and Indonesia have signed a $1 billion arms’ deal. Sir Robert Muldoon’s warnings about an Indonesian invasion in 2020 don’t seem too far-fetched now, do they?

As you know, the Reds assert their influence quite happily on to our Labour government here. Naturally, it may well wish to do the same if y’all vote a Democrat into the White House since it is the PRC’s favoured party.

It's ironic that the Russians are going to sell Jakarta some of the killer Kilo-class subs. And in Oz, we've just inked a deal to sell Moscow our uranium.
It is a sick cycle of death we perpetuate.
I don't think it's likely that Indonesia will show signs of territorial aggression... they can't bloody afford it. But they are worth a closer watch because of the internal troubles they face. Indonesia is never far from Balkanising.
All the major governments are big arms’ dealers—Lord of War was not far from the truth. It looks like Australia wants in, sadly.
