Imagine
When I first heard about this ad, I thought it was a good idea. Since seeing it, I do not like it. There’s nothing clever about using a John Lennon impersonator to do the voice and talk about laptops. If they had used actual quotations from Mr Lennon, with the impersonator reciting those, and discussed how one laptop per child aligned with his values, then I think there would be something to celebrate. The TVC was approved by Yoko Ono.

Hi Mr. Yan,
Imagine, yea I imagine if John Lennon was here today that he would not be fond of this spot. Its not the message, but the creative execution that is simply creepy.
Imagine is a wonderful song that inspires a movment of humanty; I think the agency that did this [pro bono] effort missed the chance to inspire critical mass.

The Imagine spot is gaining attention in the news, I've seen it on several news shows. But, the adv speaks to culture, but not [with] culture; it does not engage.
OLPC, is marketing their product, it does not seem to have a branding focus; do you think that is true?
