Obama want to unite everyone ,,, it will happen but not by Obama,,, the Obama camp been on CNN and Msnbc

I have to say, I followed the race avidly at first, now I just wish it would be over because seeing them throw tens of millions of dollars away that could be providing AIDS meds or feeding the hungry repulses me. What a perverse system.
I agree. This race has become months too long. Anybody can trip up during this time, and what's the point of dragging this process out so long? To find out how someone might have skeletons in the closet and therefore disqualify them? We won't have candidates then because we've all got skeletons in one way, shape and form. The amount of money spent on this race is just unbelievable. I thought there was a recession on, or did I miss something?
Yeah, there is a good old fashioned recession where the normal folks struggle to keep up with the price of gas and groceries while the rich continue to splash the cash and get richer! I like free market economics, but I think it could do with some revision along more ethical lines!
You are both right, though when you think about it, American FMCG manufacturers spend way more on getting American consumers to eat a particular brand of jam. I agree that politics, however, should not be a case of down-your-throat promoting. Mike Huckabee showed that it could be done with less, and really, if they want a good president, it should be down to not having the big marketing spends and getting people to vote on the issues. List them—let the people decide what mix they want, or what underlying philosophy they want. At the end of the day, that is all that matters—unless the marketing spend is to cover up inadequacies.
All the cries from the candidates about ‘I want to focus on the issues’ is BS when most of the dollars are being spent unwisely and often to discredit the other.
Pete, how very true. Politically, I am like you: yes, of course we should be free to buy and sell and compete—but commerce must have some element of social responsibility or ethics. Otherwise that rich–poor gap will just keep on growing.

Couldn't agree more Jack, it's so sad, it baffles me why big corporations refuse to do the things they could to help alleviate the problem. Like drug companies could sell anti-retrovirals at cost price to struggling African economies and still make their big profits in the west, and corporations could refuse to deal with shady businesses unless they improved their practices, etc, but it all seems so geared towards maximum profit at the expense of humanity.

I agree with the political marketing too, in fact, I actually really liked Huckabee - of all the candidates he came across to me as having the most sincerity. I'm naturally more inclined to the Dems, but ended up with a very favourable impression of him. I think they should all campaign over a short period - say two weeks, with a limited budget, and then all states should poll on the same day.
Too bad they missed.
