Harold survives NIU shooting; gives first-hand account

Comments

I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, but I just wanted to say that I'm glad that Harold is okay.

When I was in high school we had Columbine and Santana (in my hometown) and just the prospect of something like this happening at our school was frightening. I can't even imagine what it must be like to live through it.
I would have known earlier as one of my cousins alerted me, but I didn’t read her email (she’s always very nice and didn’t write what I would have written in the subject line, which would have been, ‘Harold has been shot’). I called Paul today but only got the voicemail, but from what I know Harold is OK. One website had a report where a doctor said the pellets were likely to come out on their own.
This family gets a lot of press!
Anyway, thank you for your good wishes, Ceji. Harold has his faith and that is really keeping him grounded.
Really sad to hear about this, Jack.

Praying for Harold and so very glad that he has his faith to see him through. He seems like a really good guy, I can see why you're proud of him, being so positive and upbeat in the face of what happens is quite a testimony.
Thank you, Pete. I am really impressed on how Harold has grown up. He also looks a lot like his Dad at the same age! You know, I never had any contact with Harold till this—the last I remembered seeing a photo of him, he was a baby—though annually I would be in touch with Paul with a Christmas card exchange and maybe one or two emails during the year. I hope one of the consequences of this is that more of us in the family are connected.
He is a fine example of his parents’ strong values and faith and how God has seen him through what was a very trying incident.
I pray that he will regain his health in every respect.
Thank you, Zak. It’s funny to note that I lost a friend in 7-7 and then my cousin’s son is injured in this. The world is a small place.
This is a great testimony - God's hand really shielded Harold from a fatal shot! I pray that Harold continues to have a speedy recovery!

Thank you so much, Kat!
