Harold survives NIU shooting; gives first-hand account
My cousin Paul’s son, Harold, was one of the victims of the NIU shooting, with three pellets to the head. A Christian, he lived to tell the tale.
One pellet has come out. Please pray that his healing is successful.
I am really relieved that Harold is OK and proud of him for his positive message at the end of this interview.
I thank God for Harold’s survival. There was a mixture of reasons he survived (I suspect the time it took Steven Kazmierczak to change weapons helped), and the consequence is that he is approaching life with additional vigour. Learning about mortality is a big lesson at 21. Good on you, Harold, and praise the Lord.

When I was in high school we had Columbine and Santana (in my hometown) and just the prospect of something like this happening at our school was frightening. I can't even imagine what it must be like to live through it.
This family gets a lot of press!
Anyway, thank you for your good wishes, Ceji. Harold has his faith and that is really keeping him grounded.
Praying for Harold and so very glad that he has his faith to see him through. He seems like a really good guy, I can see why you're proud of him, being so positive and upbeat in the face of what happens is quite a testimony.
He is a fine example of his parents’ strong values and faith and how God has seen him through what was a very trying incident.
