Eating Stories
My friend and distant relative May Yan contributed to this new book on Chinese cuisine, called Eating Stories: a Chinese Canadian and Aboriginal Potluck. It’s important for those of us in the diaspora not to lose some of our good eating habits and knowledge about traditional cuisine, and to be able to pass them on to the next generation. The way May described this book, it’s the sort of thing that I would regard as vital for my own well-being!

Cool~is it available in Taiwan? If so, I am sure I will get one.
So... have you cookedanything from it yet?
Lulu is an amazing place for publishing all kinds of books and even better, it's free for the author! It's the sort of place you can produce a book but not have a huge cost outlay to run off 500 copies. You can buy it cost price and sell it in a shop with markup and only have to buy a couple at a time. It makes it so much easier for any kind of author just starting out.
On the book itself - I stopped to think what traditional Australian fare has been passed down from my grandmothers and feel quite sad that we don't really have anything distinctly Australian. Bangers and mash? Pikelets? (they've got to be English), bbq's are a style of cooking not the food itself....can anyone think of traditional Aussie fare?
