Bill Clinton drops nice-guy act—we are all in trouble now

::: smile ::: this is a fun post Jack.
Thanks, Randy! I like injecting some fun into politics. And I agree with Bill Kristol in the Murdoch Press that this was totally intentional on President Clinton’s behalf. I don’t think, however, that it will solidify Democratic support, nor will it help Sen. Clinton. If anything, a volatile Clinton will be as persona non grata in subsequent campaigns as during Vice-President Gore’s in 2000.
I agree. I think that it does look contrived. In the world it will boil down to either he looks out of control narcissistic or completely contrived. That's why when I wrote, I was hoping that it truly was his offense over being connected with the murders of innocent people. Rightly or wrongly connected doesn't matter with regard to his reaction, either way I would imagine and expect him to be very upset and could understand but not condone his inability to maintain composure.
Any goodwill he had prior to that would have been washed away. Not all of it—there will always be Clinton loyalists—but the person he damaged most that night was not Republican, but himself. Self-respect leads to greater respect, and a man of his education and experience should have known that. I had issues with Bill Clinton during his administration, certainly, but I always respected him and his office. In fact, after he left office, my admiration for him actually grew because of some of the speeches he made. After that stunt on Sunday, I now wonder if that stuff was all a public-pandering act.
Funny how he thinks there is a right-wing conspiracy and many conservatives think there is a left-wing conspiracy …
