I am rethinking Audi with this model and the R8 and not to mention the S5. Ohhhh boy.

It’s a real joy to drive but I haven’t sampled enough BMWs to be able to give you an informed comparison. But the S5 is absolutely lovely, too. Real V8 grunt, a proper modern muscle car with four-wheel drive.

I can't wait to take out the S5 for a fun run. I know someone that's ordered one and is currently awaiting its arrival. He's a former BMW 330ci guy.

You will enjoy it. It’s really hard to describe. One journalist I spoke to equated it to a latter-day Quattro. It is definitely raw in the “soul” but it looks refined.

how would you honestly compare it to the new BMW M3?

The most beautiful car in the world. I love my 1999 Mazda Miata so that's saying something...

I haven’t driven any Ms but one of the guys I was talking to yesterday thinks the S5 is a better drive and makes more satisfying noises. I believe these cars’ philosophies are so very different and it’s over to what you seek. The M3 speaks to a brasher audience, the S5 not; however, from what I understand, the S5 is more a wolf in sheep’s clothing than the M3 is this time round.

Actually I still prefer the original TT styling. Ghia and Pininfarina did great work also.
